We found this lovely little cafe just north of Langholm on the A7. We had tried 2 hotels and a cafe in centre of Langholm this was a Sunday afternoon and they could not serve us food because they were full or stopping serving at 2pm. The Whitshiels cafe managed to serve us hot soup and Ham Sandwich even although they were closing at 3pm. The girl servers (sisters)were welcoming and helpful ,thank you to all the staff If we pass this way again we will be sure to stop for food.

I was out for a Sunday motorbike ride, and called in for a bite to eat and a warm up, weather was dry but chilly. I decided on a Mocca coffee and the Sunday Roast, even though all the tables were reserved, the Lovely Ladies fitted me in which allowed me an hour to enjoy my meal. The Sunday roast was, lovely Slices of roast beef, roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, carrots, cabbage, Yorkshire Pudding with gravy, and it came with extra gravy. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, and saved a few Slices of roast beef for my pet Cocker Spaniel called Annie. Fantastic staff and I will be back for more gorgeous homely food.

My overall Whitshiels experience was very good. Parking was excellent, service and staff were better than most. Food was good. Would definitely use again if in the area.

What a great cafe.been here a few times and never had a bad meal so stopped here today to try the breakfast and wasn't disappointed.Everything on the plate was cooked really well and the Sausages were amazing and for £7.50 including toast it's great value for money aswell. I highly recommend it

Excellent little cafe to the north of Langholm on the A7 Carlisle to Edinburgh Rd. I try and call in when ever I am in the area. The food is lovely, good sized portions & plenty of options from the menu or specials board. A selection of coffees & teas are available as well as soft drinks. They offer a range of Deserts that I guess are homemade. We always buy some to take back home. The staff are lovely & chat with you. Overall worth the visit!!

First class. Food great quality and exceptional value. It was very busy with inside and outside tables almost all occupied so kitchen understandably a wee bit slow. But they're putting out quality meals so not an issue for us. When we are in the area again we won't hesitate to go back. Thank you Whitshiels

A very nice nice little cafe locatted just outside of Langholm, serving a great choice of homely favourites, at very good prices. Food was straight forward and and very tasty, and Vegatrian options were also available. The choice and quality of the puddings was the best bit, with us leaving very full after over indulging for lunch. It was very much worth a stop if you were passing, with a large car park available. Staff were all very friendly, delivering a local vibe in a casual environment.
